GRANDI VIVAI SCIACCA è stata fondata da Alfio Sciacca alla fine del 19mo secolo, nel 1895. Ha iniziato la sua attività come struttura a conduzione familiare fondando lo stabilimento di orticoltura Alfio Sciacca & Figli. In seguito, grazie alla intuizione e alle capacità del figlio maggiore Marcello e l’aiuto dei fratelli Concetto e Salvatore, si consolidò in una società internazionale con sedi a Malta e Tripoli. Dopo pochi anni l’azienda ha registrato un ulteriore passo in avanti e con l’avvento di Alfio la società si è trasformata in gruppo di imprese che forniscono una vasta gamma di prodotti, servizi e attività: dall’ architettura del paesaggio alla bio-ingegneria, dalla mitigazione acustica all’illuminazione, dal consolidamento di scarpate alla organizzazione di garndi eventi culturali.

Un lungo elenco di esperienze ha accompagnato la nostra storia, per esempio la collaborazione con Roberto Burle Marx, l’acquisizione di certificazioni internazionali quali l’ELDA, l’Associazione dei Lighting Designers Europei, l’Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera, la IES, Illumination Engineering Society. Ed ancora MGP, Professional Management  Society, la SGS-THOMSON Microelectronics, l’Università del Nevada, la IECA, l’International Erosion Control Association, e la American Society of Landscape Architects.

 

HISTORY

GRANDI VIVAI SCIACCA was founded by Alfio Sciacca at the end of 19th century, in 1895. It started its activity as a family horticultural establishment, and later, thanks to the intuition and the capacity of Marcello, the eldest son, with the help of his brothers Concetto and Salvatore, it turned into a solid international enterprise. In a few years the company grew, and the choice of offering quality services enabled Alfio to realize his dream. The company, in fact, became a group of associated enterprises providing a wide range of products, services and activities: from landscape architecture to bio-engineering, from noise mitigation to lighting, from slopes consolidation to big events organization.

A long list of experiences had been critical for latest expansion through the collaboration with top designers such as ROBERTO BURLE MARX; acquiring certifications from different companies and organizations including ELDA, the European Lighting Designers’ Association, the Academy of Fine Arts of Brera, IES, the Illuminatine Engineering Society, PGMS, the Professional Grounds Management Society, the SGS-THOMSON Microelectronics, the University of Nevada, IECA, the International Erosion Control Association, and the American Society of Landscape Architects.

Competences include environmental restoration, urban design, landscape and architectural lighting, maintenance and conservation of architectural heritage and historical sites. These highly specialized divisions are handled and cared for by engineers, landscape architects, surveyors, ecologists, biologists, naturalists, agronomists and humanists with decades of experience.
